The Yoram Leowenstein Acting Studio Proudly Presents:
The Normal Heart by Larry Kramer
Adaptation and Direction: Ido Kolton
In early 1980s New York, writer Ned Weeks begins to realize that a mysterious disease is killing the gay community around him.
He rallies his friends, and together they establish an organization that tries to respond to needs they don’t yet fully understand:
What is this disease? How does it spread? How can they convince the authorities—from the mayor to the entire United States—to acknowledge that there’s even an epidemic claiming so many lives?
And why is everyone ignoring it?
Ned is determined to help his community, even if the personal price he pays for his stubbornness and principles is unbearably high.
The Normal Heart is a painful yet deeply moving story, filled with love, humanity, and hope.
It is a story about people fighting for the lives of those they love—by any means necessary.
