The Yoram Leowenstein Acting Studio Proudly Presents:
The House of Bernarda Alba
By Federico García Lorca | Director: Noam Shmuel
Lorca's masterpiece is one of the most iconic plays in modern theatre, and has had many stage interpretations in Israel and around the world. The Yoram Loewenstein Acting Studio's production, with a brand new translation to Hebrew, is a modern, physical interpretation, accompanied by live music.
Bernada imprisons her five daughters at home for eight years of mourning following their father's death. In the background, the voices of men and romance are calling for the hearts and souls of the imprisoned girls.
A play about tyranny, jealousy, desire and passion. Above all, Lorca illustrates a desperate struggle for freedom - a struggle that will overpower Bernarda and bring destruction to her home.
