Pigeons – By David Gieselmann – Class of 2011

SELA – The Performing Arts Studio Founded By Yoram Loewenstein, under the auspices of Geothe-Institut Tel Aviv, presents an Israeli premiere:

Pigeons

A rampant comedy about a woman with temper tantrums, a psychiatrist with a severe memory problem, a blond Dutch with a safe specialization, sorted abuses and one disappearance. By hook or by crook, everybody ends up sleeping – or dreaming about sleeping– with everyone else…

A witty plot, full of surprises by David Gieselmann, one of the young cutting- edge playwrights of contemporary German theater. His highly acclaimed play “Pigeons” is currently presented at the Berlin Schaubühne Theater, and in other major cities around the world. Now you can see it at The Studio, for the first time in Israel, under the auspices of Geothe-Institut Tel Aviv.

Roy Maliach-Reshef, The Studio’s in-house director belongs to a new generation of leading directors in Israel. A Studio graduate, he is the founder and director of 14/48 Festival in Tzavta Theater – the world shortest theater festival. Maliach-Reshef is also the writer and the director of the successful youth production “A Different Life,” which was presented at international festivals, as well as The Studio’s and the Milan Piccolo Theater co-production, “Miracle in Milan,” an adaptation of the famous movie by Vittorio de Sica.
