Graduate (acting) of the Beit-Zvi School of Performing Arts (1998). In 1994 made his first appearance on film in Eli Cohen’s A Man Who Loved Hebrew alongside Anat Vaxman. In 1996 he featured in Etgar Kerret’s Red Heart Queen, alongside Shai Avivi, a performance for which he was awarded a prize by the Israeli Film Institute, and also in Sammy Molcho – Private Investigator, a performance for which the Sam Spiegel Film & Television School awarded him the best actor prize. In 1997 he starred, alongside Alon Abutbul, in the film A Grain On The Eyelash. In 2000 he wrote the script, alongside Limor Nachmias, to Oded Davidof’s film Clean Sweep, featuring Zaid himself, Dalit Kahn and Alon Abutbul, and a year later featured in the film Giraffes alongside Tinkerbelle. In 2003 he featured in the film Was or Wasn’t, alongside Evgenia Doddina, in the film Ben’s Biography alongside Sharon Alexander and in the children’s TV series The Children Of Napoleon Hill, by Gur Bentvitch. In 2004 featured in the TV series Love Hurts alongside Dana Modan. In 2005 he featured in the films Sweet Mud and Foul Gesture, the latter also written by him. Zaid also guest-starred in the TV series Florentine and A Matter Of Time.
Zaid also engaged in writing for television – in 2004 as co-author, together with Sigal Avin, Dror Nobelman and Limor Nachmias, of the daily drama series Michaela, in 2005 as the co-author, together with Avin and Nobelman, of the daily drama series Telenovella Inc., and in 2006 as the co-author, together with Nobelman and Nachmias, of the daily drama series The Champion, in which he also performed in a supporting role.
On stage, Zaid appeared in Crazy Love, Girlfriend and Born Guilty in the Jerusalem Khan Theater, in Man Himself for which he was awarded a commendation in the 1992 Teatroneto Festival, in Boo To The Moon and Matchsticks in the Beit-Lessin Theater, in Gorodish and Wife, Husband, House in the Tel-Aviv Cameri Theater, in The Imposter, Crooks And Lovers and Stakeout In The Dark in the Be’er-Sheva Theater, and in Othello, Liquidation and Boris Spielmann’s Comeback in the Haifa Theater. Zaid also took part in the independent productions Loop, The Self-Evident and Noa And Yossef El-Dor’s Weird Show, for which he was also awarded a prize in the 1994 Edinburgh Theater Festival. As theater director, Zaid directed Crime And Punishment in the Be’er-Sheva Theater, Love Story in the Jerusalem Khan Theater, Tzavi The Turtle in the Haifa Children and Youth Plays Festival, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Delusions in the Yoram Levinstein Acting Studio.
In addition, Zaid has been a teacher in the Yoram Levinstein Acting Studio since 1990, acts as a Selector in the Israeli Film Fund, hosted a poetry column in the TV culture program HaMusaf on Channel 8, was the Artistic Director of the Haifa Children and Youth Plays Festival, and a Dramaturge in the Haifa Theater Playwright’s Project
