“Jewish Soul” is a powerful biographical play by Yehoshua Sobol, based on the true story of the philosopher Otto Weininger. After a profound identity crisis in early twentieth century Vienna, Otto is torn between his admiration for the European identity he idealized and his revulsion toward himself as a Jew he cannot erase. On the final night of his life, an unsettling inner journey unfolds, as he grapples with questions of belonging, truth and recognition.
It is a story about the struggle for identity, about fear and about the human need to find a place in a world overflowing with contradictions.
